Birthday Girl

Mikayla turns 6 with friends and family at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon.

Marissa (Tink) Turns 4

Marissa is transformed into Tinker Bell in the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Downtown Disney. She repeatedly reported that it was her "best birthday ever." Thanks to everyone who made the trip in the rain to the beauty salon and dinner at Olivia's Café. It was a night was full of surprises and laughter. Happy Birthday -- KK

During one of the most frightening nights of my life, I found myself holding Mikayla in a hospital after a head-first fall out of her high-chair. While waiting for the results of a brain scan, we walked down a white hall and she gazed at a picture on the wall of Jesus Christ. She point and said, "Hi, Jesus." I remember smiling and having a feeling we would be OK. A sky message over our house on her birthday, July 15, reminded me of that horrible night and really how lucky I am to have my family. Yes, Mikayla is again pointing at Jesus and I know we are better than OK. Happy Birthday, KK. Below is a video of Mikayla giving Marissa a birthday ride in her car.

Birthday Fun

Mikayla and Marissa could not have asked for a better birthday celebration. It was wonderful to see family and friends and just chill out at the lake. The Smith family sends special thanks to "Mimi" and "Ba-Ba" for going all out this year and throwing the party. Also, thank you to all who came and made the day such a blast. Nearly 100 photos of the event can be found in a new birthday album. We have so many favorite photos but this is the one that makes us "spit our milk" and laugh.
